  • The beginning

    1922

    Angelo Po, one of the best blacksmiths in Carpi, opened his first workshop in the city in 1922. Although he was young, Angelo was passionate about his work, determined and confident in his abilities as a craftsman.

  • 'La Carpigiana'

    1927

    The young Angelo Po designed and built his first painted stove, called 'La Carpigiana', which was shortly followed by the elegant, refined and innovative 'Americana', but always driven by his determination, willpower and confidence.

  • The 30s

    1935

    In the 1930s, Angelo Po's factory moved and began production of the 'barilotto', a sawdust-fuelled stove that helped the local residents warm their homes during the harsh winters in the difficult years that followed.

  • Shape and function: a factory is born

    1940-1950

    World War II changed the production philosophy, as Italy was influenced by Rationalism and focused on functionality rather than aesthetics. It was then that Angelo Po's company evolved from its small-scale craft background into a factory, satisfying market demands for modernity and progress. Following the introduction of mains gas supplies, the company also moved from low-cost stoves to its first large-scale professional appliances for canteens, army barracks and hospital kitchens. The company also began producing domestic water heaters and radiators.

  • New markets

    1960-1970

    Angelo Po's innovative production was, and still is, characterised by research, technology and design. Under the helm of Angelo's sons, Alberto and Alfio, the company started producing the first modular professional kitchen systems: these were versatile, capable of adapting to the needs of customers, efficient, designed with advanced technologies, practical, functional and easy to clean. New markets also started to take notice with field-kitchen sales marking the start of exports to the Middle-East.

  • Technology

    1980-1990

    Angelo Po never stopped innovating: new convection ovens were invented, the list of renowned clients grew and the company began exporting its products to a number of European markets. Under the guidance of Angelo's grandchildren, Amerigo, Rossella and Alessandro, the strength and credibility of the brand grew further. The establishment of the SAGI refrigeration appliance production plant in Ascoli Piceno completed the range of services offered by the company.

  • Global challenges for an international brand

    2000-2010

    Angelo Po became a company of international importance, whose export turnover grew to represent over 50% of total sales. With the acquisition of Enofrigo and Rational Production, the company constituted the 'Gruppo Angelo Po', strengthening its position as a leading specialist in the professional food services sector.

    2014

    Today, Angelo Po is ready to take on worldwide challenges in professional catering system production. In addition to its international success, strong commercial development and production process automation, the company still retains the knowledge and craftsmanship of its early days.
